I have a 1952 Farmall Super M, wide-front...all re-bilt. I'd like to get a front-end loader for this tractor; can anyone tell me what kind of a front-end loader would fit on a tractor like this? I'm just not familiar with the kind of accessories (like a loader) that would go on such a tractor...so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

DAN

I've got a Freeman/BushHog that I've used very successfully on my M and SM. It has large hydraulic rams, works well on the "belly pump" Lift-All system, and is extremely rugged. The sub-frame for the loader mounts on the rear axles and attaches to the side frame along the engine. The loader arms and cylinders attach with only 4 pins. We got it in the mid 70's, and have been very happy with it.

Get a Westendorf jiffy They make the best loader in the world very easy to mount and very tough

The International model 31 would have been built new about the same time as your SM, but it doesn't look like the new style loaders, it's the old style with long U channel arms that go all the way back to the back axel. It was replaced with the model 33 pipe loader in the late 50's(?), and those replaced with the newer looking model 1701 and 2001 loaders in the early sixties. Any of these can also fit, but watch the later ones as they needed to come off the same type tractor to get the rear mounts the same. I have a model 31 on a SH, and am putting a 2001 on a SM now.

Anyone ever put one of the new style ones on? The quick disconnect ones where two pins hold it in place and you can attach or detach without leaving the seat?
