Re: What about the IH in reply to desoto, 02-03-2006 04:54:52
It seems people want everything for cheap price,if the tractors are listed for less than others there is a reasone for it.I never heard anything about you complaining about the IH you bought from him at the same time.It was better than you expected so you get one that is not what you expected , you want to rub it in.Everyone has to remember that the tractors are 60 to 70 years old, they need work,Get over it and move on.

When you buy cheap, you usually get cheap$1200. TH IH was described as running. It took a little while to get the IH running, but we did with just some tinkering. The John deere was another story. IF someone told you the truth about one tractor and made false statements about the other, that cost over $3000, would you trust him.

No one can argue with your reasoning about these tractors being over half a century old. I think most (not all) realize it as that is what makes them more valuable. If they really wanted a new one, they would not do the things that collectors do to acquire the old ones.
I know there is one in every crowd, but not describing a tractor for what it really is is in inexcusable, especially for someone that boast of how long they have been around them.
I dug up a YT ad I had printed off from 4 years ago. I looked at the write up, and then compared that to the tractor that showed up at my friend's place. All I can say is, some of the profit needs to go for strong glasses.
