Not sure who Jay Stewart is, but I've never posted about him - look in the archives. Fact is this was my first purchase of a used tractor part from anyone on this forum. No one else seemed serious in response to my want ad for a replacement rim. He was prompt in responding, but that's where it ended. The UPS shipping was fast once it got to the shipping outlet, about 4 days to get halfway across the continent, and he did apologize for slow preparation. Regardless, it still took far too long to get to me. I ended up forking out big cash for a new aftermarket rim, as I needed that machine back up and running weeks ago. From the phone call to the tire shop to the pick up, it was four days. Like I said originally, maybe a rim is a really bad decision to buy second-hand; I now know that first hand. You or I can install a component on a tractor with some tools without a middleman. The tire shop took one look at that garbage rim and told me not to get my hopes up. This is a safety issue for the employees trying to reinstall inner tube and tire, plus any time I have to add air. Years ago no one balked at servicing an old rim, but many workers have been killed by these things through the ages, and now there's a lot more caution. I've since taken the rim, along with my original rim to another tire shop for their opinion, and they too said they wouldn't work on either one of them. I maintain that Sam wasn't practicing due diligence, and he stopped responding to my emails. After waiting a while to see if he sent me any money as a refund, I decided it was time to speak my mind. I'm not wasting more long distance charges trying to get a refund. He may be busy planting his beans, but I'm busy making hay weeks later than I wanted (no thanks to him), and I can still respond here and in my email. I've had one experience with him, and it was awful.
