Placed an ad to sell an item for $550 on this site. I was contacted by a person claiming to be a "Frank Suatoni". He sent a cashiers check to me for $4100, then wanted me to wire transfer the difference to a "shipper" he had lined up. He said to cash it that day and wire money immediately. Does he think I am stupid? Please be careful, these scum are making it difficult. IP address is 196.1.190.7 Which is somewhere in Africa, I think. Thankfully I was not a victim, PLEASE TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW OF THIS SCAM. By the way. Police wouldn't even file a report for me.

Had this hapen to me, just have them send it and call the U.S. Customs and Border Protection if from another country. If in US have your bank turn it over to the FBI, they did for me when I go bad travelers checks.

I had a US version of that scam. Guy won an item of mine on eBay, then emailed to ask if he could trust me to immediately wire the exorbitant shipping fees to his partner when I got his cashier"s check. I gave him my payment policies from the listing and told him to pay up or he would be reported. Instead of responding, he sent me another email about wiring the excess money to his partner.

About that time, eBay cancelled his account. Sometimes they get it right.

That scam has been going on for years. Best way to stop them is to not even answer there e-mails
