I have talked with others on the phone about this site with posting neg feed back or nice feed back, its seems to me that alot of people post there problems here when it never even happened on this site,I mean on ebay or other sites,I think if it is not from this site then it should not be posted here.It has made this site a area to post problems and a negative towards this complete site.I have talked with others that would come to this site before alot and now do not because of these neg or postive posts. It has given this site a bad rap.I for one know this is hurting this site overall.I was wonder what other here think. Thanks

One of the things I find sad is the fact that there are people that have no problems with "scamming", or "missleading" people just to make a buck. Some of the people getting scammed are folks that are just getting started in to antique tractors and equipment and therefore are easy marks for the crooks. I personally get more pleasure out of selling something to someone for a reasonable price, shipping quick, and knowing that I,ve helped them, than trying to make a bigger profit. And, yes, I have been scammed. But, I,ve made some very satisfactory purchases from some fine folks who were just plain honest.

I think problems from people in YT should be posted ONLY, no eBay problems, but I know that cant be changed.

What is the harm in posting here of a BAD ebay transaction, to warn the rest of us not to deal with that person???

How can you POSSIBLY have a problem with that, Andy???

I agree with most of the opinions expressed thus far here.
I don't really have a big problem with posting feedback from E-
bay experiences with people. However, I do feel that the real problems are the personal attacks, name calling, and sometimes wild accusations.
I have only ever left feedback ONE time here and that was because I felt I should share my experience with a particular seller. Before I did so, I tried to work things out with the seller.
When I left my post here, I did not make accusations or hurl insults. I just related exactly what had happened and how the seller responded in turn. I didn't even tell people not to buy from this person...
I thought that I was doing a whole bunch of people a service by at least sharing my experience.
What I got for my trouble were personal attacks, harassment, and insults from a number of people that didn't know the buyer, the seller, or any specifics about the situation.

IMHO, this is more of a problem than sharing problematic stories with E-bay sellers. This isn't the place for personal attacks on anyone - sellers OR buyers... even as bad as we'd like to sometimes. It CERTAINLY isn't the place for attacks and insults from uninvolved parties!

Just my unsolicited opinion...

I agree 100% with you. Too many people get involved when they dont need too. I hope I never gave personal attacks, all I want to do is give FACTS (with evidence), and allow outside people to decide what they think. However, this seldom happens, instead some of these uninformed people call both buyer and seller names like goofball, stupid, or whinner. And because of these uninformed people getting involved, the posts can be closed and then anybody else with facts can not give any feedback, which is sad.

I really wasnt planning on posting again but anyways....

Let me get this right, I am the one causing the trouble, you started this crazy shouting match by giving completly wrong information. How about you keep your mouth shut?

Look at the past year, have I posted on anything that I was not a part of? Really, you need to learn some facts!!! And if you dont think I was effective, go look at UPS089's feedback, he has stop giving pointless feedback; and Vern didnt post a tractor under his name for a long time.

Man, you need to check your facts. Because I backed Jay up, when he wasnt there to. I never did business with him but we live about 150 miles apart and on at least two different times when we had tractors delivered, the semi/truck also had some tractors for him, which were really nice. I can name at least ten people that have had great transactions with him. So please explain to me your false statements again..... . People like you are the reason there are problems on this form. Im ready for some more false statements from you, anything else???

This forum was started to keep all these buyer/seller comments off the other forums like "tractor talk" and the brand-specific forums, which is where people were posting these things. I feel that anyone who has a comment from a tractor-related deal to share, good or bad has the right to post it here , but I agree the original intention was to have some accountability for people who do business on this site. As mentioned many of them also are on E-bay etc too which is why theres no reason to restrict this forum . I always keep a few things in mind when I read these comments 1)- there are 2 sides to every story 2) if a person FEELS cheated , in his mind he has been cheated even if no one else agrees with him. 3) "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" would solve 90 percent of these problems 4) "let the buyer beware" I think you are taking more chances buying thihngs unseen on the computer from a stranger, so there are bound to be more problems.

Many people that do business on eBay, do it here too. In one of the thread that mentions eBay, which has now been deleted, I even said that that person had done business on this website. So if you have proof that a person does do business here and he or she has taken advantage of others on another site, I think you should post here to warn others on this site.

Yes, it truly is sad the golden rule is gone, and in this hobby/business, your reputation is everything, and people need to learn not to take advantage of others, or it will be shown what type of person you really are.

My family does this as a hobby. We have bought 30+ tractors in the past two years and only sold 3; so to us, like most, it is a hobby not a business. So people that have lots of trouble on this site (one problem a year defined by some people) might just buy a little more (20 or more tractors a year) than somebody that does not buy much (1 or 2 tractors a year) and has no trouble. Also we buy 200+ parts a year from eBay.

In fact, I have four imported tractors being delivered tomorrow. I bought them as running but for the price I paid, I just want them to be able to roll. I am sure parts are going to be missing and probably two or three of the tractors will be worn out, but that’s ok. I am not going to post here and be all upset, I was just happy to get pictures. It is not like the seller talked them up, “here are the pictures, they are supposed to run,” that is about the extent of the description.

However, when you pay premium for good running tractor and you get a bad motor/block, and have the original ad where it does not mention it, I do have an issue there. Or when you specifically ask a seller if their item is something and the item arrives completely different, I do have an issue there too.

Also, no body is forcing anybody to read anything. If you get a newspaper in the morning do you really read everything in it, even if you don’t want to? That is like this site, I only read certain parts of it, by choice.

I have proof read this many times to make sure I am not offending anybody. And please if anybody has a problem with MY OPINION; please state so, but use logic not name calling. Also in my OPINION, I think this feedback form should be bad experiences only; using the idea of no new is good news. Because I could fill this form up with great transactions, but that will make potential buyer’s search harder. Again this is my opinion. I will be away from my computers the next couple of days, so if anybody wants to attack me, fine, I really don’t care, I have never wronged anybody. If you don’t ever want to sell to me or buy from me, I probably feel the same way to you. But I really hope some critics will understand where I have been coming from, because maybe I did not make it that clear with previous posts.

Also my email has always been open if anybody wants to write me.

i think the feedback is good. if i want to deal with someone i will check it out. if negative feedback is on here for no reason, i can also choose to not sell to someone that seems to just "run into" bad purchases all the time. this is my hobby, not my job and i cant afford to get shafted. this hobby is for fun and those that are willing to loose a friend over a dollar are not for me. buying or selling, keep that in mind.

BMassey--I have to agree with you. It is a good thing to leave feedback whether it is good or negative. On a site where folks sell items it is good to see who is straight forward about what they are selling and those who fudge in order to try and sell what they have. It's just a little more fast paced in this day and age with the internet sales. I wish it was where folks had time to go look at every item they were interested in purchasing but that's just not possible as it is such a wide market.

I for one do not have a problem with telling other people about positive or negative experiences. I think it is a great way to let people know who is honest and who isn't. I know there are two sides to every story but when I read the same comments from different people about the same person and those comments are negative, I'm sure not going to buy anything from him or her. I will agree that sometimes we tend to beat a dead horse, but emotions can run high when someone feels they have been wronged. Dishonest people, especially those who sell on the internet need to learn that bad behavior will cause you to lose customers.
The sad truth is the "Golden Rule" died years ago. My word is my bond, its about the only thing thats free anymore. I try to keep it squeeky clean.

Bmassey, I agree with you, my word is my bond. If a man, or woman can't be as good as their word I would rather not deal with them. If I get out of this life with one thing left behind, I definitely want it to be a good reputation for doing the right thing, to the best of my ability and knowledge.
