Check this out!!!!!
I made a deal with Dan to purchase one of the three balers he had for sale. Spoke with him on the phone and set up a date to come and pick it up. I drove seven hours only to find out that he sold all three of them to someone else!!! I didn't get a chance to talk to him, he had his wife tell me. I guess a mans word doesn't mean much these days.

I dont know the whole story, but I have been on both sides. I always call before I go after a piece of machinery. But if I am selling something I will save it for the buyer to come look at within a resonable time otherwise it is still for sale. I can not believe how many people on here say they are coming to look at something and never showup, call, or email.

If you have any type of proof (phone recording, e-mail, etc.) of the deal you can sue him for breech of contract.

i'd send him a bill for your time and fuel. you told him you were buying it and set a date to come and pick it up. at the very least he should have had the courtesey to call you before you came all the way out there and told you he sold them. he probably wont pay you anything, but it would give me a little bit of satisfaction, not much tho....
