A few days ago I'd seen an ad in the YT Classifieds that caught my eye, and sent the fellow a Safe-mail message inquiring about the item. Its been four days and I haven't gotten a reply back. Maybe the message didn't get through, but I'm kind of assuming someone else beat me to the item and it's sold, but is it to much to expect someone to at least reply saying that they sold it already?? I realize the guy possibly got a pile of people showing interest in it, but it also wouldn't take much to "copy and paste" a short Thank you but It's been sold message to the rest of us.

What do you all think?? I'm tore between sending the guy another message or going ahead and calling the number listed.

Thanks

JWheels

When there is no price it is going to be high priced. They can't get anyone to call if they post a price. There are some real weird people posting these days. In school we were taught the old "Who, What, When, Where, ETc." format. Today they often include no price, no phone, a generic address and when you email you don't even know if they got that right. I had one guy swore up and down he had included the phone number and address. I had to email twice to get the address and phone and then he said the item was sold? He even went back and deleted the ad so as not to make himself out to be full of bull. I was doubting myself, but I had printed it, so there it was. I won't ever answer one of his ads again.

I called the guy tonight, He still had the item, and still has it as he wanted more than I was even dreaming of paying. I'll admit I didn't have a real good idea on what the price would be otherwise I wouldn't have called or sent an message

He most likely didn't receive it .
I have replied to several ads to find out later the seller never got them . I've knew friends that had ads on I replied to that never got them . I've posted ads that friends replied to " just to test " that I never received .
I bought a tractor several states away and before I got it picked up the seller listed another one I wanted . I sent several replies , didn't hear back .I just thought he had already sold it . A month later he had the same ad on again . I had his phone number by that time & called him . He told me he never got a reply from the first ad but got several & had sold it from the second time .

Larry, You are absolutely correct. I don't know what the problem with YT's E-mail system is but it's TERRIBLE. I've posted ads in the past and not gotten a single E-mail on them. Then, when I relisted later, I got a couple calls and people asked why I never replied to them the first time I listed the tractor.
That's bad enough but then you also never know if your own inquiries are getting through either. Makes it hard to buy something if you can't contact the seller.
If they don't list their Phone number, you are just out of luck!

If its only been a couple of daysi would just go ahead and call. We all have our busy season and maybe this way would be the early bird that caught the worm.
