Yep Learned about him the hard way.

Name; Marty Prill from Bad Ax, MI.

I bought a Power Steering pump for a Farmall M from him thru ebay.

It was listed as: "CHAR-LYNN POWER STEERING PUMP", "IN EXCELLANT CONDITION", "READY TO USE", and that he had taken off of a running tractor in the last week.

I sent him a check fot a total amount of $187.50 that included shipping, BUT he failed to insure the package as he said he would.

When I received the item I discovered a pump with a BUSTED housing, and a bent pulley that could not be re-shaped.

I contacted Mr. Prill by e-mail after opening the package, and asked him for a replacement pump, or a full refund.

The reply he sent back cannot be posted here, a business person "HE IS NOT".

I contaced ebay, BUT they did nothing about it.

They seem to only look out for the sellers.

Afterall ebay makes their money from the sellers, not the buyers.

I was asked to pay a fee (I think it was $20.oo)to ebay (of course) if I wanted them to proceed any futher.

As you can tell; "I don't think much of him, or the manner in which he does business".

I have since used "USPS Money Orders" as the ONLY type of payment for items that are sent to me thru the US Mail.

I had a slight problem with this ebay seller but it wasn't directly his fault but the clown he left to load my part. Something seemed fishy, I had spoke to Marty 15 minutes before arriving at the farm but when I got there he was gone and some young kid was there. I had bought a flywheel for a JD 70 on ebay. The kid had a flywheel setting out on the steps and I backed up the van and loaded the flywheel. Something just wasn't right. It took me a minute but I soon realized the flywheel he was giving me had the bolts on the back side, not the front. It was to a long hood A. I made the kid let me into the shop and search thru the piles of parts on pallets till I found the right flywheel. I am not saying Marty is anything less than honest but it seemed wierd that in the 15 minutes it took me to get to the farm, he had left and didn't bother getting the correct flywheel out for me to pickup. I did leave him positive feedback because in the end it all worked out. I have kin folk 5 miles south of him that would have resolved the situation if it came to that.

The absolute safest way to pay for anything purchased on ebay is by credit card, through pay pal. Pay pal keeps track of those transactions, and if you, in any way, are not satisfied with what you bought, or if you never received it, pay pal will refund your money, or you can do a chargeback on your credit card and get the same results. Anyone who sells on ebay, but DOES NOT accept pay pal, should be approached with caution.

Pay pal is no fix all, they have a lot of problems to.They charge extra to use there
service then deny most claims. That's why a lot of sellers don't use paypal.
