UPDATE: If you are receiving this e-mail, you have been identified as a victim of fraud committed by John Hopson and/or Mary Hopson between 2005 and 2008. On April 30th, 2008, John and Mary Hopson of Cookeville, TN were indicted by a federal grand jury in the Middle District of Tennessee. The Hopson’s were named in a fourteen count indictment charging mail fraud, wire fraud, access device fraud, and aggravated identity theft. If convicted of the aggravated identity theft charge, the Hopson’s face a MINIMUM of two years incarceration. The Hopson’s were arrested at their residences on May 2, 2008 and made a court appearance in Nashville on May 5, 2008. At that time, they were released on bond. A trial date is yet to be determined. If convicted, the Hopson’s may be ordered to pay restitution. For updates on this case, please refer to the letter you should have already received regarding victim rights.
