We will never catch nor identify all of the crooks and liers but if you do this enough, you learn to listen for a few coin phases that usually mean trouble. I will only list a few, as I do not want the couple on here that are in hot water to get edumacated on what not to say to lie about a tractor. If they claim low hours, quite tranny, little wear, typically they are selling instead of telling the truth. If they are honest, they will always allow a visit to see and drive the tractor. If they offer any excuses, no matter how real they seem, you might have trouble on your hands. If it is too far to visit and they know it, they always seem to not be able to get many pictures of what you really need to see. Again, they have done this so much, they know when they have a "fish" on the line. They are good at setting the hook by saying whatever it takes to make you want that tractor. Another ploy is, "there is man here locally that wants it but has not put the money on it". What better way to push you over the edge to commit to it.? One of these guys that is claiming to be innocent used the phase, "right off the farm, everything works, just needs paint". I did not buy that 830 but know the poor guy that did. Last count, he was over $8,000 in repairs and was not finished. This answer comes from a guy that has been around tractors all of his life, it is a blantant and obvious out and out lie that he told this guy because he knew this guy did not know much. Just take your time, go see it up close if at all possible. Or, buy from someone that does not have to lie and be a crook to be in this.
