I have a '53 TO30 with a Wagner loader on it. When operating it and the front tires come across an uneven surface such as a rock or dip, it spins the steering wheel so fast that it could do serious damage to the operators hands. The tires are the 16" and it looks like the wheels have been reversed. How are the wheels supposed to be mounted? Tire outside of center of the hub or inside? Anyone have expirience with these problems?

Thanks for the info on the steering knob Mark but it seems a bit too chancy to have that thing flailing around when the steering wheel takes off so for now I'll just keep my thumbs up. My wheels are mounted the opposite of what you said they need to be so that may be some of my steering problem. I'll see if I can swap them around sometime and see if that makes a difference.

Mount a shock from a light import car between the outer tie rod end and the front beam. A steering dampner from a pick up truck (Dodge I know uses them) would work also, but might be too stiff for a non-power steering application

Thanks Dave, I'll go look and see if something like that might work!

The dish part center is poking out according to the book. I use a suicide knob so when it happens to me it jerks the knob out of my hand instead of the center of the wheel (spoke) smashing the sides my fingers when I use one hand steering on rough ground useing the rear blade grading and looking back. Other wise just hang on tight with both hands and keep the thumbs up! Mark H.
