I have found a Ferguson for sale and do not know what the value should or could be. It has a blade on the back and the jack that lifts the hole tractor up, he said it came with the tractor and not many still have it. Looking on this site I found out that it is a 1952. All of the lights are there, the hood looks good, does not have rust or dents. It also has the front bumper.
What are some things I should look for and what is a ball park figure on cost?

All depends. If engine smokes other than maybe a little at startup, watch out. Pro engine overhaul with clutch is maybe $1400. Make sure hydraulics are smooth and come all way up and hold. How long do they stay up when tractor shut off with blade attached? An hour wouldn't be too bad. Anything less might be problem. Does it steer easily and true? Problem could be in steering box which requires some pain to overhaul. Clutch ok? How are rear tires. These are expensive to replace. Rear rims? These rust out. Is any of sheet metal rusted thru? These are the big ticket items. If all these items look good, tractor might be worth $2500-3000 or so, depending on paint, how well it runs, etc. Minor items that can eat some dollars include the seat, gages, front tires, battery, starter, etc. If any of the above are not good, start deducting. Most of the 30s in my area sell in the $2500 range if they don't need overhaul or rear tires, but those two items alone can easily eat up $2K. A fully restored one might bring $3500. I've bought 'em from $650 to $2850. More tractor than the 8N for the money in my book. Hope that helps.

Check this site, 8nford.com. Look under heading 'buying an 8n'. The tractors are very much the same and the advice is good for any old iron. The jack is kind of rare around here and is sure handy. Of course there are lots of 'depends' but here in west Pa. you would be in the 2000-3500 range, with 3500 being excellent condition. Good Luck.
