I have a TEA, which, whenever I attempt to start bush hogging, begins a spate of misfires, which sound like a machine gun, and generally, stop the tractor. I need to fix it fast, could it be the induction coil or the distributor? It runs well the rest of the time. Thanks!!!

First check I would do is turn large thumb screw on carb out 1/8 turn this increases fuel mixture keep doing this and see if it helps you should be able to move throttle from 1/3 open to full open without the engine sputtering. now it could be blockage in the tank very common from dirt in the inlet of the sediment bowl or dirt in the line or carb causing it to sputter when a load is put on dirt and crud can settle in the carb float bowl and block off the high speed jet opening it needs a good flow of fuel not just a dribble. Also the points can be dirty or just not adjusted correctly. I have the big shop manual for the Ferguson TEA 20 let me know if you need a copy to work on your machine.
