Recently, the Fergy has been just "giving up" when I put the pto under load. It's as if someone is flicking the ignition switch off constantly, and then flicking it on again just before the engine dies. The switch and other connections seem to be good, so whats the problem!!! It only does this when the pto is put under load, the rest of the time it works ok. Thanks in Advance!!!

Check for adequate fuel flow first, if you see only a trickle, start at the carb and work to the tank. Do NOT blow compressed air into the carb inlet, you'll blow the screen into the carb bowl along with the junk on the screen. Recheck the carb adjustments,7/8 turn open for the idle adj., then fine tune when engine is warmed up. The main(power)jet is 1 1/4 turns open(never less than 1 turn), and engine should run rich at idle because it uses fuel for additional valve cooling under heavy load. If fuel system is clear, the ignition system is next. Use a method and insure each component is working correctly. Of course this is all moot if there's still a break/bad/loose connection in ignition wire/system somewhere. Good luck! Tracking down intermittent problems is frustrating.
