I was intersted to see some references to the use of a 3ph backhoe on a Ferguson tractor. I have a 1951 TEA 2085 and had never considered this possiblity but, I believe, if the price was right, it would be a handy thing to have for those "little jobs" - fence posts, rock removal, landscaping, etc. Anyone with experience and/or suggestions on where I might find information on the web for such an attachment? Thanks for any help.

WOULD NOT PUT A 3 PT BACKHOE ON ANY TRACTOR WITH TOP LINK DRAFT SENSING. WHEN YOU GET TO PULLING ON THE TOP LINK YOU COULD REALLY DAMAGE THE DRAFT CONTROL AND COST SOME BIG BUCKS.

I've got a 1980's vintage Kelly 30 hoe on mine - weighs in at 1300 lbs. Standalone pump slips on the pto. It's the best accessory I can think of, I use it alot. Only problem is you must either have a loader on the front or weighted front wheels because it is wwwwwaaaaa yyy too light with that weigh on the back.

Also, please remember that you are hanging something that is very heavy on a small tractor. Most of the backhoes hang off the 3pt. and not to the frame (being better). If you get one , put sway bars on and a front loader to get a balance. I have one on a 600 ford with a wagner loader. Good luck.
