Tell us what you mean by not working. Does it not lift at all, even with no implement? Correct oil weight is 90. Weight of 140 is too heavy, even more so if climate is chilly.

phil i know that 90 weight is what the book says but this tractor has been used and abused since the day it was bought. we have been putting 140 weight in it since 1989 just to keep the three point working and stop the gears from grinding so bad. but now the three point don't even budge when i move the lever.thanks brian

By hand try to move the liftarms up and down. Try changing position of control and do the same thing. Is there anything different do you encounter any resistance in either direction. Reason why I am suggesting this is because it worked for me after replacing part of my pump on my TEA-20. After a few up and downs of the lift arms manually, my pump began to work for me and has been fine ever since. Maybe it has "lost its prime"

my 49 to20 pto lift stop working recently and i removed the pump and cover from under the seat and
cleaned it before installing new 90 wt. gear oil.
also i found a fork inside that has spring tension
had come separated from a t shaped bar at the
bottom of the housing. after reattaching this and
anding the oil it works fine with light weight
equipment but will not work with heavy (box blade)
equipment. looking for sugestion as what might be causing this.

since responding that my 3 pt is not working with
heavy weight i have found the problem is with the spring loaded top arm when under pressure it will not let the arms raise. when i disconnect the top arm the lower arms will raise any implement i have. any ideas as to how i adjust this before i take it apart again will sure be helpful, thanks.

I think I know what to do?
1)On the lever assembly that you move to raise the arms, there will be 4 bolts(I think, or is it less), anyway, undo those so that the assembly is free to move.
2)Push the whole thing as far rearwards as possible (it will slide forwards and backwards), and do up the bolts.
3)Attach the heavy weight, and it HOPEFULLY will lift it. If not, then the top spring may be too tight/loose, I dont know which does what.
Hope you understand and have success, Please tell me what happens.
