Hi! The Fergy's in NZ are known as the 24 and the 28. The official, factory name is the Ferguson TE20 The TE stands for "Tractor England" The TE is the petrol version, with a Continental engine (look for a vertical oil filter)developing 24 hp, and the TEA is also a petrol, but with a Standard engine ( oil filter on an angle) and also, on the block behind the ignition coil, an engine number beginning with "S" and ending with "E". To further complicate things, the Standard engine had two versions, the 80mm and the 85mm bore, the 80mm also giving 24 hp, the 85mm, 28 hp. All TO20's had Continental engines, and I have not yet seen one in NZ. The 28hp model has an air cleaner extension onto the dashboard, the 24hp doesn't. If your tractor has a Continental engine, look at the electrics. The TO20 has DElco electrics, the TE20 has Lucas electrics. To find the date of manufacture for your tractor, look on the right hand side of the trans- axle case, just in front of the oil dipstick. There should be three numbers, day, month, year of manufacture. Hope this helps!
