TO-20 tiller use?

I've been doing some studying, and I'm afraid the answeres that come my way might be bad. I've just bought a TO-20 and want to run a 5' tiller off of it. The tiller is about 690 poounds and the dealer will guarantee it to be fine for 25-40 HP (with the gearbox only capable of 40hp). I've been told by a pile of salesmen at different shops that the 20 can handle any 5' tiller, but, reading the discussion boards, I'm worried that it wont have the pto power and may drive too fast like the Ford 8N. Any new insight on this would be great. Can I run the tiller in 1st gear and not go too fast or fry the pto? Tilling an acre or more by hand is going to wear me out. I'd love to hear that the 20 can handle it.

Thanks for any help.

the "20" could easily handle a five ft. tiller if it had live pto and better gearing. a TO-35 would be an ideal tractor for your tiller needs. i use a five ft. disc.
