Earlier, I made an offer to fix phil up with a terminal strip with a diode already mounted and spade connectors to splice into the field side of his alternator to prevent battery discharge or run-on problems. I can make these things for anyone else too. I'm not a commercial enterprise, just another guy with a Ferguson. I'm also an Electronics Technician by trade and can't stand the thoughts of cluttered wiring and buttsplices. My diode strip is about 1X1 inch, mounts with a self tapping screw and has terminals for spade connectors (both included). I'll include a wiring diagram for a Delco 10SI conversion and instructions. I want $5.00 US and shipping to send you one if you want it. This will cover manufacturing and parts. It mounts behind the dash and is invisible without a close examination. You mount the strip, remove the alternator wire from the switch, put it on the diode and connect the other side of the diode back to the switch. It's almost as simple as falling down stairs!

You can get this done cheaper (not by much) if you are willing to get the parts from Radio Shack and do it yourself, but it will be hard to do it prettier. My unit is small, uptight and out of sight and has worked like a champ on the three tractors that I've converted in the past year.

E-mail me if you are interested and I'll fix you up.

Thank god I found you. I have been searching the web forever for this particular item. My father has a Ford Ferguson and I am not sure if it is an eight or nine N. He has problems with his battery discharging and it sounds like you have what he needs. I would like to purchase a 12 Volt conversion diode strip. Please e-mail me back as soon as you can, due to the fact spring is almost here and he wants to get that tractor up and running! Thank you. Ed Leising
