What are your opinions on the after market parts available and why?

Specificly I am interested in an Inlet/Echaust Manifold and one piece exhaust pipe.

I was just about to order one when someone made the comment that the after market castings were inferior and had fitting problems. This put me ill-at-ease.

I bought a intake/exhaust manifold and exhaust pipe from Walt's Tractor in Mexico, MO. over the internet. The part arrived fast, but I only live
150-200 miles away.

I have a TO-30 and received a manifold that was an after market TO-35 manifold. It did fit and works fine. My manifold had rusted out around number 4 exhaust port.

I bought an after market manifold from Farm and Tractor. I don't know the manafacturer.

The old one came off easily as the bolts were brass. I soaked the nuts in Seabreeze for about one week. I had really expected to torque a few off. The new part went on well. I had to run the engine and retorque several times to get it tight.

This was much better than trying to get the old one welded.
