I was looking in the manual section for TO20 manuals and can across manuals for a Ferguson 40.
Can someone tell me about the tractor? I am not familiar with this model.

The Ferguson F40 was interduced after the merger with Massey-Harris while the company was duel lining the two lines. At the same time M-H sold the same tractor and it was the M-H 50. the only difference was in the hood and grille. There are some beautifully restored models shown at the Ferguson shows. I can tell you who owns a few if you are interested. I am serious collector and have been for over 50 years.

Thanks for the information Clarence. I grew up on a farm near La Crosse, Wisconsin. I learned to drive a tractor on a TO-20, we also had an Allis-Chalmers 45 and a Farmall M. Can you tell me where I can find information about Ferguson Shows? I came east in 1961 and have been In Maryland since then. Retired in 1998 and have some spare time now. Might go to a Ferguson show if I new where to locate information.

HI Nick.... There are several Show guides out and the one that Antique Power has is about as good as any of them. It is free with a one year subscription. Then look for the Shows that feature the "Fergusons"... The serious collectors do not have a formal club or group but they get together and plan events. Our big show next summer will be at the Portland, Indiana, this summer. If you send me your E-mail address I'll see you get the information. We sure would like to have you with us.... My E-maill address: ccarhill@voltage.net

Hi Nick, I purchased a new TE20 in 1948 when I started farming. I have been a collector and enthsiast every since. I still have that little grey Fergie. I had a F40 back in the sixties and regret selling it every since. I believe the next Ferguson Show will be at Portland,Indiana next summer. We don't have a formal club. there are two very good clubs in England and I belong to them. They have excellent publications. We have 12-15 serious collectors over here.

Hi Clarence
I looked up Production dates and models on the Ferguson line and I have a question.

I would like to know if there are many TEF-20 diesel models and how much are they bringing at sales? ... thats two questions!

Best Regards

Nick Thein

I have only seen one TEF20 at the shows and only a few TVO's. If I dig around a little I probably have the production numbers and dates. They manufactured the TE20's quite a few years in England with gas and TVO fuels (mostly TVO) but didn't get into the diesels until later on. Very few TVO's were exported into this country. I have a TE20 which I bought new in 1948. Are you a serious Ferguson Collector? I have a video that shows and tells about the expermential diesels.

No I'm not a collector. I would like to get one tractor, but I do not have the room to store more than one. One acre in a development doesn't leave much room and if I had tractors setting around the neighbors would complain. I got the impression that you were located in the UK, but from your last entry I beleave I was wrong.

Tell me more about your F40. at our two past shows we have had several beautiful F40's both Hi and Lo models and several different TO35's with different paint schemes and other options. One of our informal group has written sereral major articles for several collector publications and he has just purchased a Ferguson-Brown. The tractor that led to the 9N.

Hi Clarence

I don't have a Ferguson 40. It appeared to me that you were trying to send a picture and it didn't come over. I'm sorry for the mix-up
