A friend of mine is considering buying a Ferguson, I think it is a TO model. Someone told me once that Ferguson parts are very costly compared to say the N-series Fords. Can anyone comment on this and maybe give some examples of price comparisons?

I've owned several of both and I don't see much, if any, difference in prices for parts. I recently put a check valve in the hydraulic system of a TO-30 and the price from the MF dealer was $25 but he was out, so I bought the 9N Ford version from the NH dealer for $23.95. Works great, saved a buck (whoop de do). NAPA sells electrical parts for both about same price. Look in the catalogs and price engine rebuild kits and they don't seem much different. My 2 cents.

The hyd valves will interchange, however the Ford valve is set to 1,800psi and the H. Ferguson valve is set to 2,000psi. The Ford parts are somewhat cheaper because there were so many more of them built.
