The P3 was an approved conversion for a number of tractors (fuel prices in uk being a driving force to dieselise ) . the Ford 9 n /8n ,Ferguson te 20, Farmal H, and Allis B. These kits were avalliable from 1952 /52 onwards the engine was redeveloped at fords request and all Perkings trade marks removed for the F 3 which was fitted to the Dexta . The larger P6 was fitted to our Massey Harris 744 built at Kilmarnock UK . Other models to have approved Perkings conversions were Fordson Majors (p6) Farmal M. ( L4 )

The original P3 had 3.5" bore,5" stroke,Timing by chain and inline injection pump on rear left of the block.
Next came the P3.144 which had 3.5" bore,5"stroke,
Timing gears and inline injection pump bolted directly to the timing case on the left of the block.
Next was the P3.152 which had 3.6"bore,5"stroke,
Timing was still by gears but a CAV rotery injection pump was used, again bolted to the back of the timing case.
There are other slight variations in these engines but I hope you find this info usefull.

That is a converted gas tractor. That Perkins engine came out, as far as I know in 57 for the Fordson Dexta. Conversion kits for Ferguson were available soon after.
