Can someone give me a ballpark on the cost of: overhaul with new pistons, sleeves, rings, valves reseated, new crank (not turned or rebuilt), 2 stage clutch, (pressure plate ok) rebuild hydraulic pump. Will have to have someone do the work, I'm unable. Live in eastern Ohio.

My uncle just bought a new crank for TO35 made here, not out of the US, over $400. He said it was fair price. I think every rebuild is different in that most don't replace what is ok. To Joe in Houston, I'd bet you never had to figure out a two stage clutch. No problem at a good Fergie shop. I don't know parts price, but in Ill. you would have at least $600. in labor at a GOOD honest shop.

Clyde, Remind me to stay out of you area if I need a rebuild. I am in Texas and a friend of mine just had an 8N 4 cyl done (Top to Bottom) for about $800.00.

I guess it depends on how much gouging the shop is doing but I would look at small out of the way places. Usually get better work done and get it a lot cheaper.

Thanks Joe

Don't forget he needs a new crank and a hydraulic pump rebuild and a new two-stage clutch in addition to the normal engine rebuild. And parts for a 35, since they are more rare, are probably more expensive than for an 8N.

I would guess close to two grand from reputable shop, with new crank, pump rebuild and two stage clutch.
