Engine block for ferguson to 30

I am trying to find an engine block for a ferguson to 30 tractor or information on how to repair a cracked block. Have not been able to find any blocks for sale on the the web or any related sites that have any information on where to find a block. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Z129 block. It is a core, but it isn't cracked or welded

Plasma welding will do it beautifully - but its expensive.

Depending where on the block the crack is, you can stress relieve the crack (to stop it spreading further) by drilling a 3mm hole at each end of the crack. Then I have heard of people angle grinding the crack to clean it thoroughly and filling with JB weld. Never tried it though.

Apparently this approach does a good job on frost cracks.

If the crack is between the bores, e.g. from lack of maintenance and overheating, then plasma welding is the way to go.

You MIGHT get away with some very skilled MIG or TIG welding, but the heat stresses using those welding processes would worry me.

I'm sure that someone in the US posted on here a few weeks back saying they had a load of Ferguson engine blocks . . . . . but as it was advertising it may have been removed. A search in the archives may help.
