Where can I find wheel weights for front wheels of 1951 TO-30 and what kind of price should I expect. I've only had this tractor for a few months and love it, but notice the front end is on the light side. My rear wheels/tires are already liquid filled. I'm not sure with what, they were like that when I purchased the tractor. Thanks

I live in northern Door county. Do you have a set of rear wheel weights for a TO-30?

Your rear tyres are probably filled with a mixture of water and Calcium Chloride (to stop the water freezing and add a bit more weight).

Water ballast was commonly added for extra traction, esp when ploughing, but if all you ever use yours for is mowing, drain it out - you won't need it except for serious hard work.

Front wheel weights over here are pretty expensive when you can find them, around 80 of our nice English pounds a pair. You may find that you can get cheaper, new ones, where you are if you go direct to a local agricultural supplier.

hi the front tires on mine were good but full of large thorns and i couldnt keep air for it kept putting holes in the tubes after 2 sets of innertubes in 2 weeks my tire man suggested i get them filled with foam they never go flat and they weigh about 75lbsa piece heavier which worked good for extra wieght on the front end i had about $70.00 apiece in them

Rick,

I'll remember that one - but do your front tyres still have any give in them, or is it a bit like having solid front tyres on?

Thanks.

Factory originals are two piece units that bolt inside the rims with two bolts in each. They are cast iron and weigh about 40 lbs each half. The only drawback is they fit so close they must be removed prior to removing the wheel for repair. Cost??? Dad bought them new with the tractor, I was 10 then, and I can't remember that far back.
