TO30-Governor leakage

It's time that I ask the pros. I've finally got my TO30 back in running order after a year of replacing parts and tuning. I ran it yesterday in the rain an noticed fuel stains on the wet ground. It appears that I'm getting a fuel leak at where the linkage goes to the governor area. I can't spot it, but, when the engine is hot, the fan is blowing drops of fuel onto the alternator, carb, exhaust pipe, and ground and probably onto my right leg as well. Is there a simple spot where fuel could leak from? I'd like to avoid taking the radiator, fan, etc. off and don't really wish to get into the housing and the governor. I'm hoping there's a simple answer. I've had a float in the carb that sticks and will leak, but, that's not what this problem is. Also, it appears to be not only gas, but it looks as if there's a touch of oil mixed in. Any ideas would be great. Is it a matter of tightening all of the bolts in the area, replacing a seal in the link/lever that's there, or am I looking at a serious problem and having to pull the front apart and get into the governor. Thanks for any help.

My gas tank was leaking in the same area. Took it to the radiator shop and they fixed it. The man that had the tractor before me sealed the tank with some red stuff. However he neglected to patch a big hole first.

Thanks to you and others who emailed me directly for the input.

I've narrowed the problem down to my carb float most likely being stuck. I'm getting a wide open flow of gas that makes it into the engine and isn't getting exploded properly. It passes into the oil pan, mixes with the oil and thins it out. When I run the engine, it builds up pressure and I get a gas/oil mix leaking out of places where normaly the thicker oil wouldn't come out (also out of the oil filler tube). It looks like carb work for me this weekend and then a check that all of my ignition is firing all pistons.

Luckily, my father had a truck that did a similar thing when a piston was acting up and he blew his dipstick out of the engine because of the gas built up in the oil pan. He reminded me of this, and, that info with what I was seeing for other problems and the help from you guys on the web and I've got the problem located.

Thanks for looking into it.
