Afternoon Everyone

A few days ago I posted a question on here regarding a trailer hitch or a draw bar. A few of you suggested that the Fergy System would be better, that is with the 2 bars extending from under the rear axle back to the 3-point hitch. My question now is that I have located these bars but they come in different lengths, Does anyone know the proper length I needs and does the draw bar that fits between the 2 arms of the 3-point hitch have to be a certian length as well. Looking forward to your reply.

Hi Barry
I keep telling you that we need to have a visit. I have two of these bars with my 2085. One is bent slightly (on purpose I believe by the previous owner so it would raise and lower past the mounting bracket for the 3 PH cement mixer)and the other is straight. The longer (bent) one has two holes on the end I attach at the implement. This allows me to slightly offset an implement if I feel the need.
I don't have measuremets off hand but will try to find a few minutes tonight to get you some dimension. Seems to me I saw these in a Princess Auto catalogue - is that where you are looking??

Hi toolman

I can get all the stuff for my TEA-20 at my local TSC Hardware store. They had the draw bar stuff that I was looking for. Hope this helps--- Barry, Sorry for the long delay in getting back to you, my 102 year old grandmother past away last week, so I was off

Sway bars are adjustable, usually you can't find two implements that have the same distance from pin to pin.

Hi Barry,
I measured my stabilizer bars at 31 1/2". I think the bar with the holes is a standard length but measured mine at 30 1/4" or maybe 30 1/2" from pin hole to pin hole.
(Hope they don't sell them in metric, cause I'm not converting!)
Regards,
Jim

Last year when I went to all the trouble to fix a bent sway bar, I didn't know they we're just $8.00 I meassured it to be in the 24"-28" range Sorry but the memory is a bit foggy. To be sure measure the distance between the axle connection and the lift arm when it is attached to a three point implement. I would suggest a draw of similar length to the spread of a standard Cat1 3point. I would get one long enough to keep the lift arms spread abit. this way the restraint chains and stabilizer arms will take lateral loads and not the lift arm joints.

Hope this helps.
