Does any one have an idea how much a 1954 forage harvester manufactured by Harry Ferguson is worth?
Thx in advance. All parts are there and would not take to long to make it run.

Al.

Al,

I've got a couple of factory b&W photos of the forage harvest, including one with an engine mounted on it. If you will e-mail me with your e-mail address, I can send them to you as attachments. If you send me your mailing address I will send you hard copies. I'll also send you, at no cost, the article on these machines.

The Ferguson F-HO-20 Forage Harvester was indeed recalled by the factory and they were to be destroyed. A few survived. They are quite valuable and there are two or three around that I know of.

The August 2002 issue of Ferguson Furrows had a comprehensive article about this machine and its twin, the B-EO-20 Baler, both with the same basic design and called "Tractor Mate." Both were semi-mounted.

Back issues of this article are available for US$2 to the US and US$2.35 to Canada. Send cash, US checks or Postal Money orders only (not bank money orders) to Paul Nelson, PO Box 3029, Chino Valley, AZ 86323.

Good day Paul.

The Tractor Mate that I have in question looks to be the Side mounted Harvester with 52 inch cut and 48 inch windrow pick up. It doesn't have the Ferguson engine on it but that's not saying it isn't tucked away somewhere. Will have to look around. I read that the quick type hitch is needed to couple and run this implement. I will also look for this. Pulled from behind but supported from the side.

Marlowe.

I have not gone and had a good look yet but I believe it to be the type that fist on the side wheel and drives from ground speed or with the auxilliary Ferguson engine mounted on the back side. Any way the gentleman is giving it to me., for the reason that I restore and I am willing to put a donation plate on it.

well if it's that one you are getting a one in a million harvester that was recalled by ferguson this thing is worth some money . i have a picture of it and the article says they were recalled but gives no reason and it said there were none in existence
