Has anyone been able to add a rollbar or ROPS to their older Ferguson tractor. I have a TEA and live on 50 acres of very hilly land. After reading several articles on tractor rollovers I feel pretty lucky given some of the situations I put myself and my tractor in. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Paul

Hi Paul...After a few years of mowning a ditch I have on my property and holding my breath while I did it I decided to build a rops for my to-35. I am pretty handy with metal and welding . I used 1/2 plate to build brackets that sit on top of the axle and drilled holes matching the lower fender bolts then I used 2" black iron pipe for the uprights and had a friend bend it to the proper width for me to align with the plates....we set it on top of the plates alreadly bolted into place then welded it. After A little more thought I added a small top to it to give a little shade.It turned out to look pretty nice so i removed it and added a few gusets here and there for strength then sandblasted it then primed and painted.It turned out pretty nice the only peoblem I had was after a month or so of usage I noticed the fender u-bolts worked loose...I remedy it by replaceing the nuts with lock nuts .And now I feel alot more safe while Iam mowing that ditch... Sorry I don't have a picture but I hope this helps you get an idea of how you might do it....have a nice day.....

Dear Paul
If you aren't handy with a welder or there just isnt the time get on to Bare Co. on www.bareco.com.au. They have US outlets and a special lighter ROPS for fergies thats quite cheap ( about $200)

Rick;
I'm not sure if I understand you correctly. When you say "they have US outlets..." are you refering to Bareco? If not, who?
Thank you,
Roger

Roger; I think Rick means Bareco as I have discovered they do have a US outlet. In fact they are going to E-mail me a quote on a rollbar. regards Paul

If I've said it once here, I've said it a thousand times- With all due respect to people's fabricating talents, home made ROPS are nothing but a nice place to put some lites. Hope I didn't hurt anyone's feelings, but that's how it is.
