I have a 2n Ford on a 5 foot rotary mow. The tractor starts perfect, idles good, but when I mow for about 20-30 minutes it starts to miss and of course loses power. Put on new coil,pts.condenser,plugs..has plenty of water in radiator. I sure would like some input in to the problem. It has a front mount distributer.(spell?) Thank you so much.

Is your wire from the ign to the coil wired thru a resister on the back side of dash. I think you are to have about 3.6 volts to the coil. Post this question on the 9 n 2 n 8 n ford board or check the archives there.

I knew this was familiar, it just took a while to remember - my TED used to do this before I stripped the head - and in doing that I discovered that the main cause was one head stud not being correctly torqued up (some eejit had put a metric nut on an imperial thread!).

Cold the head was flat, warm, it warped enough to cause trouble.

Might be worth a look?

I have an old Tea 20 which used to cut out after 20min when it got hot.

Found the problem was in the fuel line. Only minimal fuel was getting through and when hot it evaporated before it got into the carb.

You might like to check the fuel line to the carb. I removed the cutoff solinoid and replaced with online tap
