I have a TE20. It's becoming more difficult to find tune-up parts for this distributor. Since it is Lucas, most U.S. dealers don't have parts. I'm in need of cap, rotor, and point set. Also, the insulator for the terminal is cracked, but it still works. I've dealt with U.K. parts dealers before, but it was expensive. Does anyone know where in the U.S. these can be purchased?

I'm not a tractor owner, but I was looking for a part for my Lucas distributor for my MG, and ran across this forum. Is the distributor on your tractor a 25D4 or a 45D4? If so, look at www.mossmotors.com and look into the ignition electronics in their AH Sprite/MG Midget catalog. Rotors, caps, points and condensers are there along with the hard to find lead in. Also you can buy complete repacement distributors, even with electronic upgrades, from a number of dealers. The attached link is a direct one to the distributor page at Moss. As a British car owner I know how frustrating part hunting can be. Hope this is of some help.

The TEA-20 engine was made by Standard of the UK who also supplied engines for Triumph cars. I have a 1966 Triumph TR4A with Lucas electrics and you likely can find distributor parts etc. at a dealer in British car parts. Let me know if you need mailorder contacts.

Sincerely,

Dick Smith

Good Morning , I have the same tractor as you and find that I can get any part I need from my local Massey Dealer here in Ontario Canada. There name is McKeown Motors and there phone number is 1-613-395-3883. Ask for Al or Bill and they will set you up good. With your strong U.S.A dollar the parts should be resonably priced. I do think they will ship as well. Let me know how you make out.,, Barry

I've never heard of Vapormatic, but I'll do a search on that. I didn't know that Lucas is American owned, but 3 years ago, I was able to purchase a cap and rotor from a local supplier. Now they don't list those parts.
