Just bought an O>R>C> for 1951 TO 20 but the clutch wont slide on 1 1/8 shaft far enough
to allow me to install drive pin/spring pin in hole in shaft. Can anyone help? Has anybody else had this problem?

Yeah, I had that on my '51 TO-20 also.

In my case the PTO shaft had various burrs, dings, etc. in the splines and that's what held it up. A little work with a file fixed it right up. Actually it was an old ORC and I had the same problem getting the brush-hog attachd to the ORC (same fix)!

Once you finally get it on there and run it a little it'll wear in just fine.

Thanks for your comments RP but the end of the ORC
hits the bearing and snap ring back on the shaft
before the holes line up. Will the pto shaft move out any ?

I don't think they're supposed moved in or out at all! As I recall my PTO sticks out about 3 or 4". Any chance someone twisted yours off and redrilled a new hole in it?

Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

My overriding clutch slides into the holder for the PTO shaft. (just like the dust cap does)There is an overlap of approx 1.2 to 3/4 inch. Could this be the problem?
