Front tire mounting question

I managed to find a pair of used "old style" three ridge tires (6.00x16) to put on the front of my TO-20. I cleaned up the original rims and took the tires in to the local tire place one at a time as I got the rims cleaned up. I bought new tubes from Gemplers. When the guy mounted the first tire he used some sort of rubber/plastic bushing (like a grommet) around the valve stem where it came through the rim. When they mounted the second tire (a different guy did it) they didn't use a bushing, and I've got about a 1/2" valve stem sticking through a 5/8" hole in the rim. Do I care about this. Will it be detrimental to the life of the tube in the tire? Should I take the second tire back to be remounted with a bushing? Thanks for your help.

I've seen them both ways with and without...unless the valve stem hole is rusty or jagged I'd say don't worry about it....there again you sound like me a stickler for detail if you are carry it back...I would
