I wonder if anyone out there can help me. We aquired a farm with a tractor on it. The tractor has a serial number on the dash that we can not read. The motor has a number 105003E on it. The tractor has no headlights is grey in color with some red and has Ferguson on an emblem on the front. Is there a serial number anywhere else or can anyone tell me what year it is. I would like a manual for it. Thanks Val.

If you would like to send me an email, I will send you an attachment I have compiled called Help Me To Help You, it asks lots of questions for you to find the answers to and send back.
From the answers I will be able to give you the help you need.
I have helped other Ferguson owners all over the world to find out the age of their tractors and have a 100% record to date even on Fergusons without the serial plate.

I had to use 0000 steel wool and paint thinner to see my serial number. Rub lightly & use a magnifying glass.

Val,

Welcome. You can also look at the engine. On the bottom left side of the engine (If a ferguson) you should see a number cast. Something like Z120 300A, or Z129 300A. This will also help. Does the name plate just say Ferguson or does it say Ferguson System. The latter would indicate a Ford 2N or 9N. Assuming a Ferguson, Also look at the electric system see if it has alternator, and if the starter solonoid is an AC Delco or a Lucus system.

Is the air intake on the dash or under the hood?

the board should be able to help you out.

Afternoon Val,, Sounds like a Ferguson. Under the steering wheel there is a plate, if you cant read it take a piece of paper with a pencil , put the paper over the plate and take your pencil, rub the pencil lightly over the plate, with some luck it will produce a serial number. Then stop back with the number and we can help you
