I noticed a hydraulic connection on the side port of my TO30. It is on the pto shift port. When I had the tractor split, I noticed it was not connected inside to anything. I think it was a return.
My question is, If that is a return, where would I hook up the pressure side?

Paul on my to-20 there is Twin hydraulic pump outlets for use with tools and equipment requiring
external hydraulic pressure located on each side of my tractor right below where the seat is fasten
to the housing . are we talking about the same thing.

Paul I posted an old chart on vintage ads that might help you in locating hydraulic pump outlets

Let me know ?

I think so.
There are some ports on the top of the body, right under the seat. I think they can be used to check pressure. The connection I was refering to before, is lower: on the same plate as the PTO on/off shifter. This connection is open to the cavity inside, which makes me think it is a return.
To use the pump, I would need to figure out where to hook up the pressure side, then use the return for return. Am I making sense?

Go to vintage ads on left of screen click on one of the to-20's. O on that page, look at the photo, is that where you hook up pressure side,
either on the left or right. just curious ?

ureka
Seems so simple with the right information.
The return I was refering to is on the "P" diagram. The previous owner either customized my "P" PTO shifter plate by adding a threaded fitting, or the TO30 is different than the TO20.
Thanks for the info.
Paul

There are two pressure take off points on the hydraulic pump itself, right at the bottom of the centre axle housing below the seat and the round covers. there is one at the rear left corner and the right front corner of the square plate (the hydraulic pump) make sure you get the correct adaptor to go in here or you will strip the thread, it's quite soft alloy. make sure the thread is correct and dont overtighten it, always use new sealing washers.
