I have an old ferguson farm tractor that I need some parts for but so far I have been unable to find the number I need for the local part department. Where on the tractor do I find the numbers I need. This tractor has been painted over.

If you have the z120 engine, you could have a TO20 or a Te20. The TE was manufactured in England, the To20 was manufactured in Detroit. In either case, the oil filter can be accessed by removing the large oil plug in the oil pan. This plug has the smaller plug screwed into it. The smaller plug is to drain the oil. One way to distinguish between TE and TO models is the location of the tool box. If you have a tool box attatched to the front of the gas tank, you have a TO20. If it is under the battery on the left side, it is a TE20.

Cast into the engine block just above the distributor you'll find the engine size. Z120(cid) is used in the TO20 Harry Ferguson tractors, Z129(cid) is used in the TO30 Harry Ferguson tractors, and Z134(cid) is used in the TO35 Harry Ferguson tractors. The ID plate should be just above the steering wheel if still there.
