The pistons on the pump looks like they should have some kind of piston rings, but there arent a single one, whats the point in those grooves in the pistons????
If there should be rings, what kind is it??

Regards a "confused" Norwegian

Jone, no piston "rings" used in the pump. Advise you get a parts book and shop manual for your tractor and all is explained. The only rings are in the work piston which lifts the 3 point.

Some pistons have a groove with no ring, it's called a heat damn. Stops heat from going any farther....Dang I remebered this from my auto theroy class way back in high school. Now if I could just remember where I put my tractor manual....

I have been finding I have to find the manual, but first I have to clean all the grease off my hands, then I have to remember where I put my reading glasses so I can SEE the manual. But if I pass through the kitchen it seems like I need a snack on the way by. And if there's a fresh pot of coffee just made I could really use one to wash down the snack. Of course that takes a few minutes, since the coffee needs to cool down a bit, so I might as well read the newspaper that's lying there. But where are my glasses anyway? And why was it that I needed them? Who knows. For some reason my hands are clean though, so I might as well enjoy my bite to eat.....
