Weird Hydraulics Problem on F-40

I've got kind of a strange problem on a Ferguson 40.
First, a little history. The original problem was that the 3-point wouldn't raise at all. I replaced pressure releif valve and cleaned up the valves and installed new O-rings and put everything back together. The 3-point now seemed to work just fine.
The current problem is after warming the tractor up and working it for about an hour with the 3-point in the lowered position, it will suddenly raise by itself with the lever still in the down position. If we shut it down, the arms will eventually lower on their own and stay down until the tractor gets warmed up again. At that point they will do the same thing. I'd appreciate any help you could give me on this. This was the first time that I tried to fix anything involving hydraulics so it is entirely possible that I reinstalled something incorrectly.
Let me know your ideas.
Thanks
Bob F.

If the position control lever is moved too far down the quadrant because the lower lever stop has been moved at some time the linkage will rise...what you have to do is move the lever up the quadrant till the linkage goes down again and then move the bolt through the quadrant to that point and lock it up so the lever wont go past it.
