Found what I beleive is a TO-30,appears to be all there and in tact,Engine isnt locked up but the guy says it smoked bad and thats why he parked it.I was wondering if it was worth restoring, are engine kits available, and would it worth saving to show or work or whatever.I have ben wanting like a Ford 600 or similar to work with and thought this may be an alternative to that, but would it be better to restore it and keep it for historical reasons or whatever.Understand what I mean?I dont want to work it and tear something up and ruin it,ya know.

Complete engine rebuild kits are available as well as blocks, heads, etc from a Contenental engine source. You may find the link here with a search, it has been posted many times. The suppliers listed at left under "Marketplace" sell many parts and kits for TO-30 tractors. The salvage yards are a good source for parts also.

Many parts are readily available for these machines. Wheather I restore, or simply work mine on my 10 acres, it's a great little tractor worthy of you giving it more reasearch and a good home.

It cost me about $500.00 for the sleeve and piston kit along with the rod bearings and gaskets for our TO-30. Most of these blocks are cracked lengthwise between the cylinders as are many of the old A Farmalls. Unless you want it perfect, don't let that stop you. The sealing pint for the cylinders is the top of the sleeves. Check the main bearings and reuse them if they are good. They are some kind of expensive. An oil pump kit is also inexpensive and not that hard to install.
