My tractor is painted like a MF35 and the decals say it is a MF35 but the fuel tank is not red or grey and the serial number plate is missing. Question 1 is how can I be sure this is a MF and not a Ferguson? Question 2 is can I somehow determine manufacture date or year from other information available on the tractor?

Does it have the hi-low tranny? If it does, with two shift levers, it probably is a 35. Could be TO-35 or MF-35, but a 35 nevertheless. If it does not have but one shift lever, and has a four speed tranny, with start selecter off the shift lever, it is either a 30 or a 20. If the oil filter is on the side of the block and not in the oil pan, then it is a 30, otherwise a 20. Hope that helps.

Hi Roger
I have over the past few years collected information from lots of different sources, but to correctly ID a tractor I cross reference the information so as to be sure in my mind the resulting information I pass on is correct or as near correct as posisible,I also think a personal contact is some times needed, but the real reason is I enjoy doing it and helping other owners, by doing this I have contacts all over the world via different tractor sites.
Besides email has a spell checker on it.
