You can have both position control and live hydraulics on this tractor using my add on devices.

See the link below.

As Jim says, they are not live. If you depress the clutch, the lift will not raise. However, the 8N is better in one regard than any of the other tractors you mention, including the TO20 in that it has position control, which the others don't, unless modified.

I think you got all your questions answered except not sure if anyone answered your question on the 35. Yes, the 35 (both TO and MF) have position control. They were the first Fergusons with position control from factory. As someone else said, they ALL have draft control. Hope that helps.

The Fergusens all have Draft control. What he means is that they do not have position control. Position control comes into play when using a mower. You can set the lift to any position you want. It is not an all up or down as you suggested. However, as you operate the mower can change heights due to not being able to exactly set the controller to dead nuts neutral.

What position control does is, it provides a feedback loop in the controls so that after you set the position, if the lift drops the controller is pulled up lifting the arms to the initial setting. Also if the arms go to high then the controller is pushed down dropping the arms to the initial setting.

Zane Sherman and an Austraian Co. both have add-on products to provide position control.

Jeff
