removed right side (if looking forward) rear rim in order to fix flat tire. decided to check on brake shoe while at it. noticed two threaded holes in drum and decided they were for removing drum. used two bolts to drive drum out while gently tapping on drum with ball-peen.

two questions... are the holes in drum to be used in this manner, or are they for threading in a bolt then attaching a wheel puller? it looks as if i may have really stressed the threads (yes, i had backed of the shoes a bit so they weren't dragging on the drum.

what torque for putting rim back on?

thnaks.

Nick: Those holes originally had taper headed screws in them for holding the drum on to the hub. Don't pull on those holes. My MF35 has them too. I'm quite sure it's the same.

They are non-essential, for normal tractor use, as the wheels holds the drums on. If you had a tractor blocked up, wheels off,(for I don't know what reason) then started the engine, decided to put her in gear, and rev. it up, then you would know why the kindly engineer was looking ahead. alvinnms
