Dave I have both one TEA I just bought has the hose fitted to the bottom and my first has it up by the seat. I do not know the significance of where it hooks up but do know if you remove piston housing which is under the seat there are two small channels over to the plugs at the top. Maybe someone else can clarify this. I do know that the loader works fine on my first TEA but am still working on the second as it has lots to fix.

my tea does not have the bosses drilled on the piston housing. i would attempt it but am afraid of shavings in the hyd oil. maybe when summer comes i will attempt but not while the snow is flying.

Could you hook up to the bottom drain? On the Ford N board there was a discussion about drilling for addition of ext hydraulics. I will take a good look today at both and try to get you more info. My second one needs lots of work to get up and usable, cap rotor and points also wires are all corroded no alternator bracket on bottom, tie rod ends and steering bushing shot, seat is no good and steering wheel is off a car of some type, wheel seals leaking, brakes shoes covered in oil and a part of the brake assembly is broken, just some of the things I will have to get On the plus side the engine, hyd and trans seem ok and it has 4 new tires on it.

Yesterday I fixed the broken bolt in steering support, tightened up steering some by adjusting screw, cleaned plugs points and wires all were corroded also the cap was corroded, now it will not fire from coil, Just need to do brakes, rear end seals, get a good seat and steering wheel and new tierod end and make alternator bracket don't think it is charging anyway. As for the hydraulics the hose is connected at bottom of the rear end housing on right hand side, On my other TEA they are hooked to the top cover side under the seat I really do not know the significance of where it is hooked.
