Just got a TO-??

Hi all,

I just picked up a Ferguson that was described to me by the inexperienced seller as a '52 TO. Well this being the first tractor I've owned that actually came with a serial number plate I knew I could identify this beauty. Turns out there's no designation besides TO 105288. It doesn't say what year, what model, or anything besides a bunch of patent numbers and the serial number.

The engine plate has so much epoxy paint on it that scraping just gives me shiny metal. The axle trumpets have TO-4013 & TO-4012 (left & right respectively) cast into them. The steering housing has TO-3551 cast into it.

It's only a 4-speed tranny unlike my TEA-20 which has a two-stage transmission. Any chance I can swap the two? Everything looks like it'll bolt right up.

Any help is appreciated. Also need to know what the oil filter number for NAPA is.

Thanks,
NCtim

If you look at the column to the left of this page you'll seean item called "Serial Numbers". I think you'll find you have a TO-30. You'll have to look it up your self to see what year. Hope this helps.

I don't have the oil filter number handy, but NAPA does carry them, as you suspect. Just ask the person at the counter to look it up. They have a good reference.
