While trying to solve an ongoing governor surge problem, I've managed to break one of the screwdriver tabs on my governer bumper spring screw. I've checked the parts catalog here and don't see it and am at a loss as to where I'll find one since it's such a specialized part. I'm not dead in the water as I can still turn it using pliers on the remaining tab, but I'd like to get a new (or used) one to replace the broken part.

Any ideas?

I had the same problem with mine, and just cut another slot in it for a screwdriver.

See my posting below this one, Governor fix TED20 TO30 for a clue - mine also surged badly unless the bumper screw was done up tight - problem was traced to wear in the cross-shaft where the tapered pin (which is wired in place) locks the throttle operating lever in place - not easy to find and worth a check whilst you are there.

Mine showed so much wear that the governor was forever over-compensating when it didn't need to.

Just a hint - maybe??

Apologies to the forum for not having posted for a while - some of you may remember I have left the engineering world for life as a teacher - things are hectic, but fun on the whole.

Good luck

You could weld a nut on the end of it.
