If I hook an external hydraulic device up to one of the Twin Hydraulic Pump Outlets, will I have to have an external valve in the closed position to use the lift arms of the 3 point?
In othere words, if the pressure in the pump outlet is allowed to circulate back into the resevoir, will there be no pressure for the Lift arms of the 3 point?
I would like to hook up an external cylinder, with a valve, but dont want to take power away from the 3 point lift arms.

Paul(FLA) ,
When pluming the outlet, I used Black pipe rather then galvanized the threads seem to fit so much better. Place ball value then quick coupling. Ball value let you hold the preasure and the work with the 3pt. Want pic let me know.

So if I understand, the hydraulic pump outlet will not be presurized unless I raise finger tip control lever, and I need to chain down the 3 point so the pressure will not be shut off. then, while I am not using the external device, use a ball valve to shut it off.
Do you think Ferguson designed the pump outlets for this kind of use?

Hi Paul,

The answer is yes. What I've done is use a lever style plumbing valve so all I have to do is flip it up or down to turn the front loader on or off. My line comes from the BOTTOM plug that runs out of the case at an angle. I don't know if this is better but it works for me and I've lifted almost 2,000 lbs with my front loader from this rig.

You'll also find that you need a pretty stout chain to pin your three-point lift arms to the axle to keep them from moving up and shutting off the pump when you use the optional device. I've made a little get-up from a heavy duty chain and two logging hooks. I can put this on and off from the seat of the tractor in less than a minute if it's not full of mud or something.
