Hello tractor folk I have owned a Harry Ferguson for about the last 5 years, but am having some difficulties. Last winter I put her through the wringer doing some logging ,and seem to have "bent" her. Serial is TEA 156199 Engine is S92028E (I think) I had what seemed to be alot of moisture in the gearbox as the oil was quite milky. The previous owner had said 90 weight, so I changed it. Unfortunately I did not get it all out, so after locating the other drain plug I changed it again. My problem is now the 3 point hitch is very slow to lift, although still being able to lift a fair bit of weight. Also I have noticed ever since I became the owner, when I first start my oil press. gauge goes right up to 80 or so , but then after warming up drops off to about 5 or less. Funny thing is , she always starts does mainly what is asked of her, and generally I am quite happy with her. I only own IT manual for TO ,and now that I have found this site will invest in manuals when cash found.(soon I hope) Any help or advice greatly appreciated Bill

Hi Bill,
First off I would suspect you have put in 90 weight gear oil. Even though the number is the same, this is much thicker than 90 weight "mineral oil", which is what is required. Regarding the oil pressure in the engine - sounds like worn bearings. What weight of oil are you using there? I found when I went to 20W50 it made a world of difference. But really changing the bearings would be worth doing, if you are so motivated.
What do you mean by having bent her? Front radius arms bent up and axle swept back more than it should be?
Jim
PS Would you let me know the numbers cast in to the rear housing just in front of the transmission oil dipstick, so I could put your tractor on the serial number page of my website?
