started using tractor today, has been sitting most of the winter in garage, used a couple times to move some snow around, the trouble is the lift control lever for the 3pt. hitch - when I put the lever down it comes back up a little on its own,I was using a rake on 3pt.hitch,so it won't keep good pressure down on the rake unless I hold the lever down, why is it doing this? I have the massey ferguson 1103 trans/hyd. oil in it and it is very clean, this has never happened to me before, has always worked good,is it just a matter of adjusting something to keep this from happening? thanks for any help you can give me,i apprecite it.

If you have play in the draft spring then any movement of the tractor which causes the spring to be pushed in will cause the linkage to raise slightly. Perform the necessary adjustments and the linkage should not lift. As Ray says, the linkage does not push down, if you need this then put some weights on your implement.

Harry Ferguson tractors do not exert down pressure on the 3pt hitch. If you mean the hyd control lever seems to spring up a little from the extreme lowered position most all do, but has no effect, as raising and lowering are accomplished in the upper 1/2 of the lever movment. The Hyd quadrant/lever must be adjusted per owners manual instructions for proper operation.

There is an adjustment for making the quadrant lever stiffer or looser. If you look at the end of the shaft that it rotates, there is a castellated nut with a spring under it. Tightening this will compress the rubber disc between the moving and non-moving part, causing more friction, so the lever will not move as easily.
