Hi,
I'm currently restoring a Ferguson TED-20 and have ran into a bit of a problem when it came to fitting the water temperature and oil pressure gauges. Has anybody got any instructions on how to fit them. Any help will be much appreciated.
Thank-You

John,

I'm not familiar with the TED-20, but I would imagine the instrumentation is similar to the other TO series machines. The temperature guage is a sealed tube capillary guage. The bulb end goes into a port on the coolant elbow where it discharges into the radiator hose. You route the capillary tube past the various and sundry ignition system parts lashed to the left side of the Z series block.

The oil pressure guage is a Bourdon tube type guage that senses pressure via a steel tube attached to a brass fitting connected to a port on the engine block. On my TO-30, the port is on the right hand side (when viewed from the operator's seat) near the back of the block above the oil filter. Sorry I can't be of more help than this.

What do you mean when you say "fit them"? Could you be more specific? Are you adding them to a machine that doesn't have them so you have to cut holes in the instrument panel?

There are holes in the instrument panel but I was wondering where and how you attach them to the engine etc.
Thanks John McDonald
